Terms of Service

Last updated 27 July 2026

This is the agreement between you and PadPipe. We have tried to write it the way we write everything else here: plainly, and short enough that you might actually read it.

The short version. $4.99 a month after a free week. Cancel any time in one click. Your list is yours and you can take it with you. We are a tool for organising your search — we are not your agent, your broker, or your lawyer, and we do not guarantee that anything a listing says is true.

1. Who we are

PadPipe is operated by Devin Picciolini, Chicago, Illinois, United States ("we", "us"). Using PadPipe means you agree to what is on this page. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

2. Your account

3. What it costs

4. Cancelling and refunds

5. What you can and cannot do

Use PadPipe to organise your own apartment search. Please do not:

We may suspend an account that does these things. If we do, we will tell you why and give you your data.

6. Your content is yours

The notes, ratings, photos and lists you put in PadPipe belong to you. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, show it back to you, and process it to produce maps, scores and answers. We do not use your content to train anything, and we do not show it to anyone else.

7. Listing information comes from other people

PadPipe reads publicly available listing pages and public map data. We do not control any of it and cannot promise it is accurate, current, or still available. Always verify the rent, fees, availability and condition with the landlord or agent before you apply, pay a deposit, or sign anything.

Distances and walk times are estimates: straight-line distance adjusted for city blocks, not routed directions. "Real monthly cost" is arithmetic on the numbers you and the listing provide — if a fee is not in the listing, it is not in the number.

8. We are not your agent or adviser

PadPipe is a tool for organising information. We are not a real estate broker, we are not a party to your lease, and nothing here is legal, financial or professional advice. We are not involved in any transaction between you and a landlord, agent or property manager.

9. Fair housing

Housing discrimination is illegal under the federal Fair Housing Act and state and local law. PadPipe scores places on cost, size, distance and the preferences you set — never on the characteristics of the people who live near them. Do not use PadPipe to discriminate.

10. Availability

We aim to keep PadPipe running, but it is provided as-is. It may go down for maintenance, and it may occasionally break. If a listing site changes its pages, some details may stop importing until we catch up — you can always type them in.

11. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, PadPipe is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages — including an apartment you did not get, a lease you did regret, or money you spent because of information shown here. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it arose.

Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.

12. Ending things

You can stop using PadPipe and delete your account at any time. We can end this agreement if you break these terms, or if we shut the service down — in which case we will give you at least 30 days' notice, stop charging you, and give you time to export everything.

13. Changes to these terms

If we make a material change we will update the date at the top and email you before it takes effect. Carrying on using PadPipe after that means you accept the new version.

14. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts sitting in Cook County, Illinois. Nothing here takes away a consumer right you have where you live.
